Digital Storytelling is the modern expression of the ancient art of storytelling. Digital stories derive their power by weaving images, music, narrative and voice together, thereby giving deep dimension and vivid color to characters, situations, experiences, and insights. - Digital Storytelling Association
By using computers and other technology such as digital and video cameras and online editing resources, individuals, including your students, are now able to tell stories that combine still images, video, voice/music recordings, and text to create a narrative that is an interactive performance for the viewer or listener. Digital stories can be shared online, through podcast, or in multimedia presentations using software such as MovieMaker, PhotoStory, or iMovie. For our purposes we will use the broadest definition possible – a 2 – 5 minute combination of narrative and imagery that tells a story about something that you feel is important. This could be based on a personal memory, an anecdote about your family, or a story about an educational concept.
